Short version: we don't track you. Here is exactly what this site stores in your browser, and why.
The short answer
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and does not track you across other sites. It stores two small, functional pieces of information in your browser to make the site itself work better. Neither identifies you personally or leaves your device.
01
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| rh-seen | Session storage | Remembers that you have already seen the brief opening animation on the homepage, so it doesn’t play again on every page within the same visit. | Until you close the tab |
| rh-door | Local storage | Remembers which of the three homepage options (landlord, selling, renting) you chose last time, so it appears first on your next visit. | Until you clear your browser data |
Both are strictly necessary for the site to behave sensibly and are exempt from consent requirements under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). Neither is a traditional browser cookie, neither is shared with any third party, and neither can be used to identify you.
02
This is why you won’t see a cookie consent banner on this site: current guidance from the ICO is that a banner is only required where non-essential cookies are used, and we don’t use any.
03
If we ever add analytics or marketing tools that use non-essential cookies, we will update this page first and add a proper consent banner before any such cookie is set, not after.
04
You can clear local and session storage at any time through your browser’s settings. Doing so simply resets the two preferences above; it won’t affect anything else about how you use this site. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data submitted through our forms.
